Laura Ingraham bestowed her Power to the People award to 73 year old grandmother, Frances Semler, who has stood up to a secular-progressive assault on her appointment to the Kansas City Parks Board. The over 2,000 attendees at the September 18th 710 KCMO event were on their feet before her name was announced and remained standing, cheering until Frances left after several minutes in front of the stage. It was a fitting recognition for one of the regular folks standing firm.
Laura Ingraham was so kind to us
Laura Ingraham gave us a surprising boost thanks to my wonderful wife.
At the end of the her speech at the September 18th 710 KCMO event, Laura was taking questions when Chris Stigall announced after she answered the current question there would be time for one more. As Laura began to wrap up her answer and started looking to the balcony for the next question, out of the corner of my eye I saw Donna’s hand start to fly into the air from our vantage point in the second row. When Laura stopped speaking and asked for the next question, Donna shot out of her seat saying she had a question. Laura graciously recognized her and Donna asked, (I am paraphrasing here because I don’t remember her exact wording), ‘Laura, with the Presidential campaigns taking so much of the voters’ attention, I am afraid the political races below the Presidential level will ignored. All the races are important, how do we ensure they are not ignored?’
Wow! Is Donna just awesome?
Laura gave a great answer and in the midst of it with Donna pointing at me, asked me to stand, allowing me to wave at the more than 2,000 attendee’s. Incredible. Laura was kind to recognize me and Donna is just my biggest fan.
Chris Stigall Anniversary event a hit!
Donna and I attended the the 710 KCMO Chris Stigall show one year anniversary celebration on Tuesday September 18th where Laura Ingraham kicked off her nationwide book tour for ‘Power to the People’, (BTW, it is awesome, highly recommended). With us were four folks from our campaign who were kind enough to make the trip to the Uptown Theater, Matt Sanders our campaign manager, Doug Freeman our campaign treasurer, and Jim and Frankie Durbin who drove all the way from the east side of the state. Also, in attendance were supporters Stan, Bev, Renee, Lisa, and Duane that I know of. If any others from the Turk for Congress bandwagon were there, let me know so I can give you a shout out.
The event itself was fantastic. At the VIP reception we were able to rub shoulders with Laura, Dave Ramsey who is such a humble man, Rusty Humphries and Chris Stigall. Another thank you to Chris for interviewing me last fall and letting the folks hear our message. I also enjoy his Kufi watch on my opponent. We then joined over 2,000 other people for the main program which featured a recognition of and encouragement for a lady standing firm in the face of loud and unfair opposition, Francis Semler, entertainment by Rusty, a wonderful testimonial by Dave, and an inspiring speech by Laura.
(BTW, if you click on the Chris Stigall link you can watch a slide show of the event. That is the back of my head talking to Rusty Humphries!)
