In another illustration of the short sighted decision to bring the mastermind of 9/11, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, and four other suspects, (note not referrred to as terrorists because they now have all the rights of the men and women fighting and dying overseas to protect us), to the city they terrorized, New York City, we found out it may cost up to $216 million a year to provide increased security for the citizens of New York while a civil trial which should have been a military tribunal set up by Congress for such a purpose takes place. Instead of a low profile, low risk tribunal hearing in Guantanamo Bay which is already secure we will be paying for a media circus in the media circus capital of the world providing the terrorist a huge mouthpiece AND a target.
You can’t make this stuff up. With so many Americans out of work, this administration and the leadership of Congress including Cleaver either don’t realize or don’t care about wasting $100’s of millions protecting a trial that did not need to take place. Money that could have been returned to the taxpayers to jump start our economy.
As important as jobs are, the danger of bringing terrorists to our largest city overshadows everything. They are playing politics with our very lives.
It is unknown to me how our leaders could ever consider this! Why would we ever try these people as Americans? Our leaders seem to have forgotten the oath that they have taken to PROTECT Americans. We need to stop worrying about the rights of the Terrorist, after all it is them that want us DEAD. It was terrorist that murdered 3000 people on 9-11. Afterwards all we could say is “Never Forget” but our leaders have forgot that day. They seem to have forgotten that we are at war at all. As the men and women of the USMF is protecting our freedom, we need to protect them. We need leaders that are not afraid to call a TERRORIST a TERRORIST. The only tax dollars that I want to spend on those that want us dead, is to help our Military, to use force to get information from them to keep America safe from another attack. It seems so simple to me. Am I missing something here? Why is this even an issue at all? Remind our leaders of the OATH of OFFICE!
